Very cheap getting around there. Langkawi is a really a low-cost destination. They have fixed taxi rates, so you donīt have to bargain with the drivers and wonīt have the feeling of beeing cheated.

Reall enjoyed the Rhu restaurant, but the Saffron was also quite good. Didn't really go anywhere, because the resort itself was just so nice.

Restaurants around the Hotel Casa Del Mar were nice. We enjoyed shopping at DFS inside the Underwater world. We explored Langkawi by car (we rented) one day. We drove to beautiful beaches where we saw no people except for us (on that day), and enjoyed dining and shopping in Downtown. And it was simply a great trip!

Great place and cheap duty free products available. The Pulau Payar Marine Park is a must do and so was the cable car (not for the weak hearted). Beatiful locations and cheap local taxis can let you explore a lot of the island which is not very big.

Langkawi is a great place to visit. We always have doubt about it, but after our 2nd visit there, I think this place is really lovely. Although the beaches and the sea are not superb, the forest, hilly terrain, padi fields compansate this.

We liked being able to go into town and do some shopping. We were scheduled to go to the platform/beach for the day but had to cancel. Would like to have tried that. Heard from others that it was very enjoyable and worthwhile.

Car rental about USD15.00 per day. Nearby sights were good - the cable car is well worth a visit. Northern beaches of the island were extremely pretty.

As my husband and I are locals, we knew the places quite well and therefore did not use any tours. The best place that we (and the children too) like best was the cable car ride. It was a real thrill going up to the mountain and at one point, the car we were in suddenly stopped for a few minutes.
