Y Uda 30 December 2004
Stayed at  Banyu Biru Villas - Bintan Island (Indonesia), Singapore.
Passa oleh oleh is the one of recommendation to have dinner there are local restaurant at less expensive level.

K Starke 24 December 2004
Stayed at  Raffles The Plaza - Singapore, Singapore.
The Zoo is very good and fun for breakfast. Changi museum was interesting although, being new and without any of the 2nd WW buildings, it was a little sterile. Clarke Quay and the new Satay club is fun but the satay is ordinary. We had much better at a chain satay restaurant in KL. "Mouth" in chinatown (China Point mall in new Bridge Rd) has great Cantonese and a dim sum high tea. Singapore is an impressive modern city and very easy to access. The old parts of chinatown are still appealing even if now contrived. An older style of Chinatown reminiscent of old Singapore can be seen in Malacca which is worth a side visit (but not on weekends when the delay at the border is substantial). Good buses readily available.

L Emanuelle 20 December 2004
Stayed at  Keong Saik Hotel - Singapore, Singapore.
We enjoyed Chinatown night markets, and especially enjoyed the tea "ceremony" at Tea Chapter. We visited the many temples in both Chinatown and Little India, ate at many hawker centres(all good)and visited Sentosa Island going over and back by cablecar. We used the fantastic MRT to get around and occasionally a taxi. Highly recommend Singapore as a stopover for about 3 days.

T Kajita 19 December 2004
Stayed at  Plaza Parkroyal Hotel - Singapore, Singapore.
About 20 min ride of taxi from the hotel, you can visit Sungei Buloh Water Reserve. This nature park is located at North West end of Singapore and you can enjoy a lot kinds of birds, mangrove ecosystem, and tropical plants.

P May 16 December 2004
Stayed at  Oxford Hotel Singapore - Singapore, Singapore.
The Boat Quay is THE place to visit for food, with about 40 world class restaurants from around the world at very good prices.

S Ponrangam 09 December 2004
Stayed at  Broadway Hotel - Singapore, Singapore.
S'pore is my next home town and visited there more than 60 times in about 20 years. Nice people and places. I always enjoy Serengoon Road and Little India area for food--Komala's, Woodlands, Ananda Bhavan, Annapoorna etc, shopping at Mustafa, Hanifa etc I love to travel by bus and MRT nice and convenient with new line through Little India. Of course a new comer has lot to see around like Sentosa, Bird Park, Night safari, science centre etc

M Dela cruz 09 December 2004
Stayed at  Swissotel The Stamford - Singapore, Singapore.
There was only one goal for us when we went to Singapore for a stopover, to get hold of the latest on mobile phones and digital cameras. Lucky Plaza on Orchard Road is where we were able to spot our new gadgets. As long as you're prepared to ask and haggle with every single shops there, you'll be able get a very very good deal indeed!

J Phillipps 08 December 2004
Stayed at  Keong Saik Hotel - Singapore, Singapore.
The KS Hotel is very close to Outram Park station on the MRT - however if you take the wrong exit from the MRT you have a bit of a hike, which isn't wonderful when the sun is out and it's blazing hot. Food at food courts is very cheap, and usually rather good. Orchard Rd is very over-rated and not of much interest if you want to buy anything "Asian". Chinatown, where the KS Hotel is, is definitely a good place to stay though.

N Rodman 06 December 2004
Stayed at  Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa Resort - Singapore, Singapore.
Sentosa Island is a great place to escape for a day or two. There is plenty to do if you like swimming, lazying by the pool or generally doing tourist activities. Would recommend at least assigning several days to Sentosa to complete most activities. Some recommendations: Bike ride around track, Cable car, Musical Fountain (nightly), Mono-rail and sky platform.

T Siew luan 05 December 2004
Stayed at  Mana Mana Beach Club - Bintan Island (Indonesia), Singapore.
Seasports lovers not recommended during December time due to the Monsoon season. Travel round by bus to Oleh Oleh is cheap though the things there are expensive, but food is Ok with not much to choose from. Kelong at Sebong was good especially the Pepper crabs. Going round on the Buddy car on your own was nice but the rate very expensive.
