The Chimes Restaurant and bar complex is close to this hotel and provides a good variety of food.

Stayed at Indra Maya - Bintan Island (Indonesia), Singapore.
We took Mangrove Discovery Tour. Although it's just 2 hours but we enjoyed it. Important speaking, it's cheaper of tour here than it in Thailand.

Stayed at 1929, Hotel - Singapore, Singapore.
The great thing about Hotel 1929 is it's just 2 streets down from Chinatown night market & food street (try Smith St stalls or the Maxwell Food Centre)...it's cheap, lively and a true way to experience authentic satay! For bar crawling, Far East Square is a good start or chill out for a quick coffee by Rouge on Emerall Hill after shopping on Orchard Rd.

Stayed at Raffles The Plaza - Singapore, Singapore.
If you are considering having a suit made, the concierge will recommend Jack's Tailors (other expensive hotels seem to have a similar agreement with Jack) and a courtesy taxi will be provided. However, the price he quoted was three times the going rate and he didn't appreciate being challenged about it. Even before this, we didn't feel the premises or the service were anything special. In the same shopping centre (Far East Plaza), we found a lovely simple place called Penguin Tailors run by a friendly couple with reasonable prices and much nicer service.

I suggest to go for dinner at the EAST COAST district where you can enjoy a lot of fish restaurants!

Stayed at Holiday Inn Park View, Singapore - Singapore, Singapore.
Having lived in Singapore 7 years, there are too many places to list here. I always walked or, for longer distances, bus. You don't see much from a taxi or on the MRT! Visitors should check out the Singapore Visitors Centre, about 5 minutes' walk from the hotel on Orchard Road (next to HMV).

Stayed at New 7th Storey Hotel - Singapore, Singapore.
Fort Canning is a wonderful walk with information boards about the history of Singapore - not greatly mentioned in the guides. The ez-link card for buses and MRT (metro) (available for purchase at all MRT stations from a machine) is excellent value and saves a lot of money. Do remember to tap it on the machine when entering the bus/station and on exiting to ensure you don't pay too much for your fare. Not tapping as you leave means a maximum fare is paid!!

Bayview is in good locale with 7-11 next door and a great hawker's corner for food just down the street. Very close to Douby Ghaut MRT.

Stayed at Swissotel Merchant Court - Singapore, Singapore.
Can recommend Brewerkz, at Riverside Point near Clarke Quay for great selection of beers. Best to go during the happy hours though or sign up for free pint at their website.

Stayed at Orchard Hotel Singapore - Singapore, Singapore.
Singapore is a beautiful place. It is hot and very humid. We took a city tour that was nice, but you don't get to spend too much time at the different locations were they take you. I feel the night safari tour package is expensive, and not worth $43 per person. You are better off getting there on your own, and paying $12 to do the night safari. I would recommend eating at the different food courts, because the food is good and is less expensive. Places you must go is Chinatown, Little India, you get to fully experiece these cultures. Singapore is really for shoppers. There is a mall at every corner with several floors. A good place to shop, which is on Orchard Rd and is not expensive is (Tang). We were able to buy diapers and other baby items at this store at really good prices. I also want to mention that every year between May 26 and July 28 is when all the stores have their big sale of the year. Taxi's are cheap, so you can take one to get around. Even though taxi's charged you more at night. The MRT was another way to get around, and not expensive. The Botanical Gardens is a very nice place to visit. Lastly, shop around don't buy the first thing you see, because you might find it less expensive somewhere else. Don't forget you can haggle with the vendors you see on the streets, some malls like (Lucky Plaza) Chinatown, and Little India, etc.
