It is better to use taxi to get around famous places. But my recommendation is
to use bus. It's very cheap. You can get to central city just about S$1-2. There
are plenty of buses running. You don't need to wait 15 minutes to get the bus
you want to board.

I generally visit Singapore as a brief stopover on travels between other Asian countries. I found the location of the Century Roxy Park ideal - away from the bustle of Orchard Road but with a shopping center across the street and a food court next door.

The hotel is also within a short walking distance of the beach, with a nice landscaped seafront with a well maintained footpaths. Access to the seafront is across a road via pedestrian walkways and between some shopping malls. It is a safe area to walk through and all the roads have either footbridges or subways so you don't have to worry about traffic.

Kazu is an excellent restaurant in Singapore. I was there on business so did not spend time on tours.

We stayed at this hotel for a stopover only, but there are numerous restaurants, as well as shops and internet cafes close by. Short ride from airport.
