Y Kee seah 20 December 2004
Stayed at  Sheraton Penang Hotel - Penang, Malaysia.
I drove from Singapore to Penang as it would be more convenient to travel in our own transport. Objective mainly to get good food. Tried the famous fried kway teow at Lorong Selamat, prawn noodle along Jalan Burma and the assam laksa at Air Hitam - no regret. Gurney Drive is a disappointment as all road side stalls have been removed. Penang Hill nothing to offer except the tram ride. If you are driving to Penang, just need to be security conscious - lock up your car whenever you leave. But Penang is still a safe place though.

Stayed at  Grand Continental Penang, Hotel - Penang, Malaysia.
Gurney's Drive is not as appealing as before. Interesting to explore the food stalls along McAlister Street.

Stayed at  Grand Plaza Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
If you like spicy chicken then you should try Nandos flaming grill chicken just across the road from the hotel. Times square is also opposite the hotel where adults can do their shopping and kids can have fun in the indoor amusement park, your kids would love you loooong time. BB plaza also a good place to shop just 5 minutes down the road.

Stayed at  Grand Plaza Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
1 utama is a great mall - it's the hype now. Jalan Alor is the food Street not to miss and you have to make a trip down to Chinatown Market to enjoy the famous beancurd dessert and some shopping.

M Low 18 December 2004
Stayed at  Equatorial Melaka, Hotel - Melaka (Malacca), Malaysia.
Night market on Jonker Street worth visiting and in the Peranakan Museum Cafe 1511, one can try some authentic local food at reasonable price.

Stayed at  Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
I went to several shopping centres in the area, including the KLCC which I will recommend with its great selection of international brands. The Petronas Towers is also a must see for those in KL, especially stunning at night with its lightings. For those who prefer some outdoor action, Sunway Lagoon is also just about an hour's drive away and taxis are readily available with fares reasonable too. Try the roadside stalls in KL to get a taste of local fare, and if you like clubbing, the area has many well-known clubs within walking distance. Zouk is round the corner, while Hard Rock Cafe is adjoined to the hotel. There are also many themed nightspots in the area eg. Planet Hollywood. If you like Retro music, Zouk is a must go on Wednesday nights!

C Jacqueline 16 December 2004
Stayed at  Heritage Hotel Cameron Highlands - Cameron Highlands, Malaysia.
The road up by Tapah is risky because of the twists and turns around hill corners (literally blind spots), so it would be safer if you reach there before nightfall (if driving). The other route, Simpang Pulai, offers very little excitement but the road is wider and safer. Do not hasten on the strawberry farms that are listed. There are more farms further up the road that allows you to handpick the fruits, unlike those listed. The vegetable farms along the way are "magic" to city-born children but alas, there is a lack of animal farm.

K Choo 15 December 2004
Stayed at  Swiss Garden Resort & Spa, Kuantan - Pahang, Malaysia.
The beaches at Kuantan are beautiful, though the sea is murky. Food at Pak Su and Satay Zul as recommended by other travellers on the web site are really quite good and affordable. Kuantan is also known for its salted fish and keropok, so they are a must-buy if you like them.

N Senari 15 December 2004
Stayed at  Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
KLCC offers a variety of restaurants for your dining. The Manhattan Fish Market has super nice fish and chips and their prices are really reasonable.

Y Koo cheng guek 14 December 2004
Stayed at  KL Plaza Suites - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Kuala Lumpur is a "happening place". A lot of things to do, goods to buy, food to eat and things to see. It is good to stay at Bukit Bintang because that's the place where all the activities are. Many shopping centres and the most recent Time Square is a must visit place if you have children. My children enjoyed themselves tremendously and my husband and I had 3 rounds of fun on the roller coaster too.
