Stayed at  Heritage Hotel Cameron Highlands - Cameron Highlands, Malaysia.
We went on the weekend, it was good timing. We visited many places on the map we bought. The most memorable thing was to visit Pasar Malam. It only happens every Saturday night. They had food, drinks, vegetables, souvenirs, and etc., that I'm interested at. We woke up really early on Sunday morning because we planned to visit the highest mountain, Gunung Brinchang. We reached there around 8:40am. It was foggy and we couldn't see special scenic view. My husband was quite disappointed. Therefore, we stayed inside the car to wait a little hoping that the fog would go away. Guess what? We experienced the earthquake from Indonesia. It wasn't apparent, I thought my husband was moving annoyingly at the back of the car, as I scolded him, haha... We only knew it was the 12-26 earthquake from Indonesia.

Stayed at  Sunway Hotel Georgetown - Penang, Malaysia.
In peak season, Penang hill railway gets quite crowded and you most probably would have 2 hrs wait to board the train. An ideal way to do this trip is to get the tickets and then go to visit the Chek Lok si temple during the waiting period (2hrs should be sufficient to do the main sights). From Komtar to Ayer Itam (where the Penang Hill Rly station is ) there are lot of buses, but most do not go to Rly station itself (only bus no 8 goes and the frequency is not good). If you're ready to walk, take an Ayer Itam bus, ask the driver to drop you at the roundabout for the station and it is about 15min walk away. If you need to do the Lok si temple along with Penang hill, then it is advisable to have own transport as the distance between them is more than 25mnts walk and during peak season it is difficult to get taxis from Rly station to take you to the temple.

Stayed at  Renaissance Melaka Hotel - Melaka (Malacca), Malaysia.
Melaka is an old city with a lot of Historical significance. Try the antique shops along Jonker street and Christchurch is definitely worth a visit to see the tombs of the early dutch settlers buried under your feet in the main sanctuary.

Stayed at  MiCasa All Suite Hotel - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Our purpose for visiting KL was to shop for Christmas. We primarily spent our time in the malls...one adult would entertain the children while the other shopped. KLCC Suria shopping center is great to entertain children with the outdoor play area, the movie theater and Science Museum. The new Times Square Mall has a fun indoor theme park, Cosmo, which our children enjoyed. The IMAX theater is there too. The Kraft Komplex is also a good way to spend a few hours letting children make a batik print. On a prior visit we stayed at the Sunway Lagoon hotel which is attached to a water park and mall with ice skating rink which is fun for the family. KL is constantly changing and there are several new shopping areas under construction now. The monthly magazine "KL Lifestyle" has a helpful layout regarding where to shop, dine, stay and unwind. It can be purchased at most newsstands and mini markets.

Stayed at  Tanjung Bungah Beach Hotel - Penang, Malaysia.
Botanical garden was fun with all the monkeys, tropical spices garden was peaceful and well-arranged, eventhough I was not interested in butterflies at all, butterfly farm was worth visiting. We had real good fun in Penang, local foods are cheap, cinema was also very cheap and it was shopper's heaven. only thing we were disappointed at was the beach. IT's not crystal clear as you might see on one of the brochures Malaysian goverment published.

Stayed at  Tanjung Bungah Beach Hotel - Penang, Malaysia.
It's very easy to locate this hotel. Get a good map at the Tourist info center before departing. It will only take you less than 30 minutes driving from the Penang Bridge. I visited Kek Lok Si Temple, Botanical Garden, Gurney Drive, Fort Cornwallis and P. Ramlee's House. I ate at Gurney Drive which served tasty foods. The Char Kuay Teow, Satay and Pasembur are delicious. Wish I can eat more but my stomach refuse to take. Hee..hee...Penang is a nice place to visit, whether you are alone, with family or friends.

Stayed at  Shangri-La's Tanjung Aru Resort - Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.
Do not miss the Fish restaurant at the Fish Market on the waterfront next to the filipino market. Go to the Restoran Sri Delima and Halal Restaurant. If you are not staying at the Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort you should try its cusine! Sea or wildlife adventures are worthwile but climbing Mt Kinabalu is something to do. Use taxi.

N Mohammad salleh 22 December 2004
Stayed at  Pulai Desaru Beach, The - Desaru, Malaysia.
Visited the fruit farm and ostrich farm in Desaru. Greatly enjoyed ourselves, especially at the ostrich farm. Learnt a lot and the kids had their pictures taken on the ostrich.

Stayed at  Grand Continental Penang, Hotel - Penang, Malaysia.
There isn't a great deal to do around this Hotel. There are a couple of very Big Shopping Malls (& Bus Station), that's about it. If you want to go to either of the nice beach resorts (Tanjung Bunga or Batu Ferringhi) do yourself a favour and save a fair few bob/nickels by taking a number 93 or 202 Bus from the Bus Station (below & next door to the Shangri La Hotel). Cost is 2 Ringgit per person as opposed to a Taxi which is 28 Ringgit both taking about the same amount of time (half an hour)!!! You can also catch a Bus that goes close (about 5 minutes brisk walk) to the Airport from here. Again cost is 2 Ringgit as opposed to 28 Ringgit, again!!! Bus number is 66.

Stayed at  Renaissance, Kuala Lumpur Hotel - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Monorail very convenient but we had no trouble with the cheap and friendly taxis when required. The tower is recommended for a view of the city and the Petronas Towers. Petaling St. is a serious tourist trap but there are plenty of locals and Singaporeans as well. There are bargains to be had and the retailers are good to deal with. Swiss hotel halfway down P St serves very poor food at the street level. If you are busing to Singapore, don't go to the central bus station for tickets. It is a nightmare. Go to the Govt tourist agency across the road from the Renaissance Hotel and do it in comfort. Or try a hotel. Don't travel to S on a weekend. Hard to get a bus and the border crossing can take a very long time.
