Queit conveniently located. Mahkota Parade just across the road with good shopping and cinemas make CMH a good choice for me.

Melaka's main attraction is the historical area with its old Dutch and Portugese buildings. Jonker Street is excellent for local cuisine.

Melaka is an interesting town with some old historical sites to see. There is not much more than this there.

Conveniently located next to a shopping mall. However, pretty far away from the Jonker Street and town area.

More and more food outlet. Seems like there will be more shopping mall in a few years time. Overall it's a nice experience.

We find that Malacca generally can be visited within a day cos' of it's lack of many tourist attractions adn all its available attractions are mostly clustered together. We went to Portugese Settlement and it really turns us off. The place looks horrible just like a forgotten or abandoned village. Taxi is so expensive taken in consideration that taxi ride generally cost RM5 in KL.
Furnishings have to be done on some tourist attractions. It seem so pathetic that Malacca only have a few decent shopping mall like Makota Parade.

Much to see in this historic city, which is undoubtedly going to become a major draw for visitors. But at present neither the sites hor the tourist office are geared up to telling you about Malacca's eventful past. Our best informant was the guide/commentator on the short boat trip at high tide on the Malacca River, great value.
Worse, perhaps, if travelling with children, is the difficulty in crossing the road. Don't expect pedestrian crossings! In Chinatown, the risks of being run into are aggravated by the narrowness of the old streets, leaving no space for a pavement.
Beware too of the taxis. Without meters, prices seemed to us to be based on what the driver can get.

Malacca is a historical town, the feeling of travelling back in time. Restaurant (red coloured building, can't remember name) serving Hainanese chicken rice is recommended.
