Great shopping at JB. Try Sedap Corner at City Square - their Chinese style Muslim food taste better than some Chinese food. This is a open food court. The Japanese restaurant is also popular with the locals and travellers.

Good choice of restaurants but charges are at 5 star hotel rates. You would need a car to get to the main town which is Johore Baru which is 25 KM away. So be prepared to just stay in although there is a shuttle to town and to Singapore which is 35Km away.

Near the most happening shopping complex :City Square. Must try : Portuguese Chicken & House of Sundanese.
At night, walk out of City Square and cross the road to a busy night market. There's lots of food stalls.
Must try : The fried oyster stall at the end of the stretch of stalls.
Note: Only sit at the table near to the stall that you're patronising. The hawkers are not going to be friendly to you if you use their tables and feast on their neighbour's food.
Note: Never leave your money/loose change on your table unless you're prepared to give it to the beggers. Some can be pretty persistant but it's up to you to decide if you wanna give.

You can drive up easily to the hotel from Singapore and it is very near to the Immigration, and food around the area is good.

Very near to airport. But we travelled by car. A lot of cars on the road. .sometimes stranded on traffic jams. Nice 'ikan bakar' and seafood at Pantai Lido.

With a car, we went to some open-air restaurants offering good value seafood. Some of the restaurants are just about 2km away from the hotel.

Taxi in JB are very convienient and cheap so no need to rent a car. The newer Emas Restaurant immediately off of Jalan Story was excellent.
