This is the first time I travelled to Genting without going through Travel Agent tour package and enjoyed the 'freedom' in terms of the time to arrive and to leave Genting. It is easy to take a bus from Singapore to KL and to connect a shuttle bus from KL bus terminal to Genting Skyway Terminal to take the cable car upto Genting.
The only bad 'experience' during this trip is the 'crowd'. E.g. having to queue at least 45mins for the cable car ride upto Genting and the waiting time for most of the rides at the Theme Park was about 15 to 30 minutes. If possible, avoid peak period.

Theme park was average, and the casino was packed. Good that they have separated the smoking and non smoking section. A lot more work is needed to keep up to international standards. Attitude of staff needs to be improved.

Basically the main attraction up in Genting Highlands is the Theme Park (Outdoor & Indoor), the well known casino and of course the "Fresh Air" in the clouds.

Unfortunately the weather during my trip was very poor with visibility due to fog down to a few metres for the entire two days. This restricted any outdoor activities. However the hotel has sufficient indoor attractions to keep ones interest up. Travellers should ensure that a jacket is taken as the outdoor temperature can be low.

Genting is worth a visit especially in the off season and is far better value for money than Sentosa at Singapore which offers similar facilities.
