Stayed at  Equatorial Cameron Highlands - Cameron Highlands, Malaysia.
Wish I could have spent more time at Cameron Highlands, but had a schedule to maintain. Great destination.

Cameron Highlands is highly recommended as a get away, perfect for a relaxing weekend. Places of interest would be the Boh plantation and Kea Farm as it is more localised for fresh flowers and strawberries as compared to the other newer locations.

Even though the lakehouse is a bit far from the main town of Tanah Rata about 10km but it is still within the reach of those who have their own transportation which is about 15min by car.The nearrest town is Ringlet that is about 4km away. You can still enjoy going around Cameron Highland using the public transportation and the lakehouse management staff will always be there to assist you.As for food,if you feel like dinning at a fabulous Lord of The Ring kind of place, lakehouse offers you the right restaurant to dine in.

Stayed at  Strawberry Park Resort - Cameron Highlands, Malaysia.
Located in between Tanah Rata and Brinchang town Strawberry Park Resort is the most convenient place to stay and to get around Cameron Highland. For those who have their on mean of transportation it is not a problem to go about anyway but still those without the advantage could enjoy the trip to the places of interest with the tour services provided by the resort. So there's nothing to worry about but to really enjoy your vacation.

Stayed at  Smokehouse Hotel, Cameron Highlands - Cameron Highlands, Malaysia.
no "fine" restaurants to speak of. Smokehouse is supposed to be one of the best Western restaurants, we found the quality of the food to be mediocre. Our best meal was at Suria, an Indian in Tanah Ratah.

Stayed at  Strawberry Park Resort - Cameron Highlands, Malaysia.
We took 9 days to drive around Malaysia so we managed to get a really good feel for the place. The best places to visit are KL: Chinatown for dinner and great night market; Cameron Highlands: Boh tea estate and great jungle treks that you can take without a guide; Penang: which is good but lacks the clear blue inviting waters of Langkawi or Phuket-Thailand but is very tourist friendly, also the hike up Penang Hill is invigorating (~1022 stairs)and worthwhile; Tasik Kenyir: a huge man-made lake, relatively unexplored for fishing, kayaking, jungle trekking and viewing waterfalls. Uncharacteristically clean for natural scenery in Asia! We would not recommend Kota Bahru on the North Eastern coast where angry glares and facilities are not very inviting for tourists.

Stayed at  Heritage Hotel Cameron Highlands - Cameron Highlands, Malaysia.
Even if you plan to do any walking, the town itself only warrants a two to three day stay. Do not go at all if travelling in a thirty year old bus with an insane driver for three hours on steep and twisting mountain roads worries you!

The tea plantations are very scenic, especially early in the morning. The perfect place to enjoy a cup of tea and a scone or the local curry puff. It is very convenient to get around if you drive. Alternatively, you may hire a local taxi to get around for RM18 per hour.

A Devlin 13 January 2002
Stayed at  Lakehouse Cameron Highlands, The - Cameron Highlands, Malaysia.
The Cameron Highlands are a great retreat. We took several jungle trails - watch out for the description "fairly steep in places" as this walk involved an hours steady near-vertical climb! The tea plantations and market gardens are a fascinating glimpse at a side of Malaysia which is otherwise invisible to visitors. A definite must for all visitors to Malaysia.

R Stanforth 12 January 2002
Stayed at  Strawberry Park Resort - Cameron Highlands, Malaysia.
Cameron Highlands is beautiful - cool and colorful. And the roti (pan-fried bread) at Shal's Curry House in Brinchang is great for breakfast or an evening snack.
