The Cameron Highlands were everything we had expected - welcoming, relaxing, interesting and above all else, cool! The recent period of rain had resulted in several of the more adventurous tours being cancelled, but there was plenty to do. However, apart from the respite from the heat and humidity at sea level, I'm not sure we would have wished to remain there for longer than a week at the outside.

We drove there so getting around was no problem. As we are very familiar with the place, no organised tours were needed. Our visit to the Boh Tea Plantation at S. Palai was scary as the road is busier now than on our previous visit. The condition of the road from Brinchang to Kea Farm was not ideal. It was extremely muddy with signs of fresh land slides and road works. The vegetable farms are great places for children, they are extremely educational.

Do try the hawker stalls, the food is excellent and very cheap!!
The surroundings are very beautiful and the tours that you can make
are worth the money.

Recommend a day tour visiting tea plantation etc. Nearly all tour operators provide one and they are good value for money.

The hotel offers tours. We took one tour which took us to the tea plantations, strawberry farm, cactus garden and bee farm.
The tour was informative and enjoyable. Only thing is it could have been a little longer as some of the places we could have spent more time. We would have liked to take more tours through the hotel but just ran out of time. Next time.

The local tour we took was fairly standard but OK value - tea plantation, strawberry farm, honey farm, butterfly farm, temple etc.

A good location at which to spend two or three nights. We had a hire car so it was easy to get around. We visited the Sungai Palas Tea Plantation nearby. This was interesting but had poor parking facilities and the visitor centre was a bit low key. We went to the Rose Valley Gardens which are worth a walk round if you like flowers - in spite of the name there are many kinds. Day two we visted Tanah Rata which is the nicest of the small towns in the Cameron Highlands - good local shops, a nice park, good choice of eating places. From the town centre is a good local walk to the Robinson Falls which includes a chance to walk into the rainforest along a good path. The Sam Poh temple at Brinchang is a Buddhist temple overlooking the town. Here you can buy a tile for the new roof and have your name put on it. Other facilities nearby (which we didn't try) include cactus nurseries, butterfly farm, golf courses and another nine walks.
