The Cameron Highlands is an interesting location to visit. The climate is refreshing. A number of walks are available, and one can visit tea estates/strawberry farms etc.

The area is great, very savage and if you are driving do not forget to fill your car up with petrol before starting the 1h 1/2 climb up.
We had a jungle tour, organised from the hotel, just great!

Better food in brinchan, a town 10 km further uphill. Sunday night market at the center of the town can get real good bargains. Buy your vege's there.

a bit out of the way for going out to eat at night. Hotel very quiet in restaurant and bar. We were the only people in bar.
Enjoyed trips - one to tea factory and walk in jungle with guide.

Tanah Rata on the Cameron Highlands - a 4 hour car ride from Kuala Lumpur. Tanah Rata is quite a colorful town with gazillion foodstalls and restaurants - and the food is quite good. Don't recommend spending more than 2 days there, 1 day for the trail walks and the 2nd day for a tour of a tea plantation. Forget about the organized tours, it's a waste of time. Instead hire a taxi for RM15 /hour and see the sights you want to see.

The drive up to the Highlands was rather tedious, very winding and narrow road but it was well worth it. Lots of well planned walks for walking enthusiasts and lots of places to eat in the town at very reasonable prices.
