Restaurants - Fernando's at Hac Sa Beach - a walk along the beach from the hotel. A Lorche close to the A Ma Temple is good as well as the Pizzeria Toscana at the ferry pier - a good place for lunch before heading back to Hong Kong. The Macau Museum and the Maritime Museum are both worth a visit. A very busy time of year - Chinese New Year.

I took a ferry from Hong Kong ferry terminal which cost HK$93, the name is Turbo Jet. There are a few more ferry company but it cost more than HK$100. Tickets can be bought in advance. When reaching Macau, free transfer buses can be taken outside the Macau ferry, left turn from the exit, by showing the driver the hotel booking slip (just find out when leaving Macau). Or you may want to join the quick few famous attractions tour, last about 3 hours, from the local guides which cost about HK$150 per pax (I bargain till HK$100 per pax), they will send you to the hotel after the tour.

Macau runs at a slower pace and so is a good, reasonably cheap alternative for those wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. Best part is that in 1.5 hours your in your hotel room. Likewise when leaving your back at your home in the same time.

Many tourists only visit Macau peninsula,
but Taipa island is valuable to visit.
The landscape of old houses are beautiful and
exotic. And there were many Portugese restaurants cheeper than Macau.

Macau was very easy to get around. Able to walk to many of the attractions. The buses are cheap and I used one to get to the Maritime Museum and have a cheap look around the city. Clothing was very cheap. Nice laid back city. Lots of people in the shops and hotels etc speak English. Looking forward to coming back to Macau one day.

Macau is very unique, nothing like Hong Kong, China or even Portugal, though you can see these influences all around. I enjoyed the Maritime Museum, small but worth a look. Some very interesting architecture, churches, light house and theater that are worth strolling by should you have the time.

This was our second trip to Macao in 2 months - this time, besides the usual sites of Macau (for the kids benefit) we added a bus ride out to the beaches and a stopover at the Karting track on the way back. Great fun for the kids (big and small).
