Stayed at  Grand Hyatt Hong Kong - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
Hong Kong tremendous - vibrant and very much in your face. Use taxis as they are very cheap. MRT is however excellent and superbly efficient and clean. Buy the Octopus card (which takes you on all buses, ferries and MTR) for a real economy.

Kowloon visit is a must - real China the further you venture. Don't forget a trip on the trams - go upstairs for a real tourists view. We dined at the American Restaurant on Hennessy Road one evening. Ignore the name - totally Chinese with Beijing style food - excellent.

Stayed at  Metropark Hotel - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
If it was a major tourist site in Hong Kong, we visited it. Don't miss a sampan ride and ask to be dropped off for dim sum on the Jumbo floating restaurant. Give the bird market a miss.

Stayed at  Empire Hotel Kowloon - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
With a hotel so conveniently located, make sure you make use of the nearby tube station to pop down to Mong Kok for a bit of electronic shopping, or to Admiralty station for a spot of designer shopping at Pacific Place mall. Alternatively, take the star ferry over to Central and check out the bars at the nearby Lan Kwai Fong or grab a spot of lunch at the trendy Soho area.

M Mehyar Friday, 12 March 2004
Stayed at  Luk Kwok Hotel - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
The subway station is conveniently located in the south of the hotel. And the cabs are very cheap so do make use of them.

T Tynan Friday, 12 March 2004
Stayed at  Shamrock Hotel - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
MTR is maybe best in the world; easy to use, spotlessly clean, and inexpensive. Find a local friend and enjoy the 1000's of restaurants throughout HK.

W Loh Thursday, 11 March 2004
Stayed at  Stanford Hotel - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
After crossing Shenzhen border, it took about 40 mins from Lo Wu station to KCR Mongkok. The next day, I took the MTR from Yau Ma Tei to Wan Chai. The trip took less than 15 mins, costing HKD 11.00 single journey.

R Thayer Wednesday, 10 March 2004
Stayed at  Wesley, The - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
Excellent location in the Wan Chai area, recommend two places for great food, great beer and excellent service: White Stag and Bier Keller, both within a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

L Grant Tuesday, 9 March 2004
Stayed at  Wharney Guang Dong Hotel Hong Kong, The - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
This was my second time visiting Hong Kong. The trains are very convenient and easy to understand. There are too many restaurants to recommend. Do not eat from the street vendors. Their standard of cleanliness differs from America. Don't use the taxis. As they will charge you for amount of people in the car, and luggage, plus the fare. There is a way to report them but it is a lengthy process and difficult to explain to them if you don't speak their language.

N Lyall Tuesday, 9 March 2004
Stayed at  Regal Airport Hotel - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
We took the bus S1 from outside the hotel to the local metro station/bus depot which was very cheap 2HKD. From there we took another bus to Discovery Bay costing 6HKD. This is not the most exciting place in Hong Kong and is bascially an expat village, however there are some nice views across the bay. We also visited Silvermine Bay, also by bus from Discovery Bay which is a quiet but pretty costal town. The journey there was great as the bus drove through the National Park that is located on Lantau and provided some stunning scenery. We then took the ferry from Silvermine Bay to Central on Hong Kong Island which was quick and relatively cheap 25HKD.

I Yasuda Monday, 8 March 2004
Stayed at  Metropark Hotel - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
This time, I tried Chao Zhou food in Kowloon side for my first experience . It was very good.
