If you want to visit all HK Museums get a ticket that lasts a week for all of them. It only costs HK5 more than a single site one $30 for all.

Hong Kong is a vibrant, exciting place to visit. There are the obvious spots to visit such as the Peak, Stanley Market, etc. but spend some time on the outlying islands such as Lantau (Mui Wo) - there are great walks here, such as Mui Wo to Discovery Bay. Peng Chau is a tiny, vehicle-free island with a few nice bar-restaurants on the sea-front.
Nightlife in HK need not be prohibitively expensive - check bars for happy hours and there are plenty of budget-moderate places to eat such as Good Luck Thai in Lan Kwai Fong, Seibu food centre in Pacific Place, etc. Set lunches which are geared towards office workers are always a good, cheap option
Everyone is different but I would definitely recommend opting for a hotel on the Island as opposed to Kowloon, which is overcrowded and can be a bit grim. Wan Chai, Mid-levels or Causeway Bay are good places to be based. Central and Admiralty are also good but tend to be a bit pricey.

Red Pepper Restaurant (just off Times Square) - simply the best! Klong Bar and Grill, Wanchai - an oasis in the den of iniquity. Fly (not DragonFly) - what a bar!

Jumbo restaurant is worth the effort for understanding how to get there. We went by Taxi from Wan Chai ferry port and then came back to our hotel on Nathan Road - Bus 973. Delicious seafood and great wines but just a little expensive. A great last night choice for Hong Kong dining. We enjoyed the free boat ride to the restaurant!!

Very good location, close to Temple Market and Kowloon Park. You can reach everything by foot. The only transport I used was Star Ferry and a bus to Aberdeen Harbour to go on a harbour cruise in one of the traditional Sampan boats. Great!!

I found Hong Kong quite polluted so the air quality was poor. It was easy enough to get around on the MTR due to signs and announcements being in English and Chinese. Food was incredibly cheap but we did not find the bargains in electrical goods that we were expecting.

For both bar scene and dining, I highly recommend Alibi, on Hollywood Road on the HK side. It's got a very hip scene & Conde Nast ranked it as one of the best restaurants in the world. Also check out Felix at the top of the Peninsula on the Kowloon side - very unique bar / restaurant and worth it just for the atmosphere and views.

How to spend a day with little children (who otherwise hate to go shopping): Ocean Park is the place to go. It's fun - even for adults.

The location of the hotel is great: within a very short walk to the "double decker" train and subway. The hotel provides a bus several times a day to the convention center - complimentary. Unfortunately, the hotel did not provide a bus to Central Station to be able to take the airport express train. However, the hotel does have a bus that runs to the airport.
