From the local bus stop outside hotel, you can take bus to The New Yuan Ming Palace, a rare imitation of an ancient tourism attraction, with free performances (included in admission price) starting at 11 am to 5 pm. Don't miss the 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm show called "Grand Qing Dynasty". It's free if you sit in the second section (too far back to see) and cost about 20 RMB to sit in front section for better view & its worth it for the small extra cost.

Zhuhai is a lovely place with good golf courses. In particular the Chung Shan Hot Spring Golf Club is an interesting one. It was the first Golf Club built after the Mao era, & it was not built by machinery but by shovels!

The Agricultural park in the suburb is worth going. The restaurant inside is good and there are choices of fresh and exotic vegetables. Try the pumpkin pie.

We found several good casual restaurants in the main shopping area. Very pleasant to walk around the town.

Zhuhai is very cheap to eat and shop, also to stay in. This city is vastly under-populated compared to the rest of China but very accessible from Hong Kong.

My destinations on my trip were Hongkong, Shenzhen, Macau and Zuhai.
Tours taken: I appreciated to be so close to the city center in a walking distance (app. 20 minutes).
Recommended restaurants: no recommendation.
Getting around: on foot, by bus and taxi. The bus lines 6, 9 and 13 will take you there much quicker and there are plenty of taxis (minimum rate 10 Y).

Great resort one hour from Shenzhen but felt like a different world, hotel is close to the the beach but sand more like building sand so beware if you have tender feet. Great views of Macao from the southern part of the city and some great tours of area from the ferry terminal. Seafood is fabulous and cheap at outside restaurants, much chepaer than Shenzhen and the Hotel get the hotel staff to write instructions for taxi to find the place they suggest.
