I had a chance to play golf at the Shenyang Country Club and enjoyed that very much. The General manager of the hotel joined me for the round. It is very easy to get around the city via taxi and very reasonable cost. Do not even think about renting a car.

Although this is the first time to stay at Traders, I have visited this area of Shenyang 10 or 15 times since coming to China a year and a half ago. I live and teach English in Anshan, which is south of Shenyang. Since last visiting the area where Traders is located, several businesses have been built such as Walmart, Parkson, and Shakey's. The latter is a pizzeria very popular in Japan that has come to China.

I can recomend a haircut at the hairstudio located next to the hotel, on your right hand looking at the reception of the hotel. Outstanding service and low prices. Don't eat in the radio tower of shenyang. The food is boring. Want to buy tshirts, blouses and pans? You must visit the street behind Traders. This is a great and funny market to visit.

Shenyang is a city on the move. it is obviously going through growing pains right now, with great amounts of construction taking place throughout. The people are friendly, even to non-Chinese-speakers. The hotel is located in an excellent shopping and sightseeing area-a quick cab drive from various places. Lots of restaurants nearby. I was on a business trip, so did not sightsee much, except to a nearby palace which was very historical and interesting. I walked around about a four-block radius of the hotel, and found numerous restaurants, shops, etc. Other than walking, cabs are the cheapest and most efficient way to get around.
The restaurants in the hotel provide lots of variety and excellent food.

Strongly recommended to visit a traditional north Korea restauant "Morankwan" in Sita(West Pagoda) distric. I got the best food in my life long. And you may feel the different atmosphere in this restauant. The staffs to serve the foods here danced and sang in front of the guests.
