Location is good. There is a stretch of night market nearby, about 15 minutes walk from the hotel. Xinhua bookstore is about 15 minutes walk straight down the road, and another called Technology & Cultural Bookshop about 10 minutes walk. Maps can be bought there. Travelling around is quite easily, especially for short distance, there are tricycles which can fetch two to four person. Of course, bargain for the right price before getting up one. Be prepared for the exact change, as most of them would say "no money to change".
