We went on the weekend, it was good timing. We visited many places on the map we bought. The most memorable thing was to visit Pasar Malam. It only happens every Saturday night. They had food, drinks, vegetables, souvenirs, and etc., that I'm interested at. We woke up really early on Sunday morning because we planned to visit the highest mountain, Gunung Brinchang. We reached there around 8:40am. It was foggy and we couldn't see special scenic view. My husband was quite disappointed. Therefore, we stayed inside the car to wait a little hoping that the fog would go away. Guess what? We experienced the earthquake from Indonesia. It wasn't apparent, I thought my husband was moving annoyingly at the back of the car, as I scolded him, haha... We only knew it was the 12-26 earthquake from Indonesia.

Cameron Highlands is not a bad place if you wanna relax and enjoy the scenery and fresh veggie. If you wanna buy veggies, go to Kea Farm, it's the best deal and for flower pots, go to Kasimanis Farm, the cheapest too! :) Rose Valley is OK but the entrance fee of RM4 isn't quite worth it. The rest are fine.

When out for dinner, I strongly recommend you ask the price first before you dine.
At night time, at Brinchang (next to Tanah Rata) they had "Pasar Malam" (night market). Here you can get very cheap price of vegetables, fresh flowers, plants, and foods.

Must check out this night market (not sure what is it call)....but I know it is between two petrol kiosk (gas stations) i.e. Shell and Petronas. Food is excellent and cheap. Must try!
However, can forget about the Boh Tea Plantation. Quite a distance away on a bumpy road. Nothing much to view.

Almost anything basic that you need can be bought from Tanah Rata. There is no bicycle rental there and I have tried to find one. There is one in Brinchang but you can also rent from your hotel (if your hotel has). Northern Indian food quite okay at the main road shops.
There is a temporary local dry market during our stay there. Sells sweaters at bargain prices XL to XXXL but I only wear S or M. Sells many household things and food.
Raju's Strawberry Farm has delicious strawberry ice stick, jam and the sweet fruit. Boh Tea plantation is quite interesting for the first time. Not many visitors and only foreign visitors. Robinson's waterfall is polluted due to construction nearby. Not worth going to Robinson's waterfall. Overall, there is much development in Cameron Highlands and many cars. The natives have all found work in factories nearby and they now live in houses. Cameron is a very different place from the last time I went nearly 10 years ago.

Cameron Highland is a fantastic place. Cooling and quite cold at night. During this monsoon period, if you drive up, drive slowly. Perfect scenic. Place visited are Kea Farm, Strawberry farms, tea plantation, Rose garden, butterfly garden, Cactus garden. Generally a one night stay and 2 full-day stay should be sufficient to see all. When buying Strawberry, try got to Kea Farm, don't buy from first shop, walk in a bit further and start bargaining. Smaller strawberry and those planted in soil is always better and shouldn't need to go with sugar offered.

After the PLUS, the road to Ringlet is a bit challenging. The road is narrow and winding and is the main route to and from the Cameron Highlands. Commercial trucks tend to travel at unsafe speeds taking corners at the absolute limit of adhesion to the road. The ubiquitous 70-90cc bikes also attempt suicide, overtaking on blind corners and cutting off the unwary car driver in an attempt to save 30 seconds on their journey. Once you have braved the desperate traffic, the landscape unfolds to some stunning scenery. The small towns of Ringlet, Tana Rata and Bringchang offer limited restaurant, shopping and entertainment facilities, but this place, after all is where you would come to get away from it all. Brilliant scenery, tea plantations and jungle walks.

The journey to Cameron Highland is worth travelling, the weather is perfect. The steamboat is full of free and fresh vegetables and cost only RM12 per pax. I bought lots of cheap roses, plants, fruits and vegetables where you can find along the way at Brinchang and higher.

We went there for the cold air and it was great. Saturday night's night market is highly recommended.

Always barging for the price. Most traders willing to negotiate as all prices are almost standard.
