Stayed at  Royal Peacock, The - Singapore, Singapore.
My first time in Singapore. Good location, only short taxi ride to Orchard Road and a few MRT stops from Clarkes Quay area and Raffles Hotel. Recommend the Maxwell hawker centre 800 yards from hotel for authentic food and a glimse of Singapore life! So cheap as well. Try the Burkit Timar nature reserve if you are quite fit-lowland rainforest in the heart of Singapore. Only there 3 days could have spent longer. Clean well run safe are words that describe the country.

Stayed at  Oriental Singapore - Singapore, Singapore.
Lau Pasat excellent value and nice to eat sea food with locals. The Zoo is worth a good day out and the shopping is a must favouate mall is Suntec City next to the Oriental. Sentosa Island is begining to look a little tired and could do with a bit of investment. The City Tour bus from Suntec City offer a good orientation tour for a few dollars. Cabs are extremely cheap.

This hotel has a great location. You can reach a lot of places just by walking...like Raffles City, Clarke and Boat Quay, Suntec has a free shuttle bus that stops by the City Hall MRT station which is only 1 block away. Orchard Road is only 3 stations away. If you're really into shopping then there are a whole bunch of shops right around the hotel and FUNAN IT Mall is right behind the hotel. The Merlion is a bit far but still reachable by walking if you're not in a hurry. I even got to the hotel from the airport by taking the MRT and it only cost me $1.40.

Stayed at  Raffles The Plaza - Singapore, Singapore.
We used the MRT everywhere - apart from when completely exhausted, then the taxis were cheap and friendly. We visited everything there was to see. The temples were peaceful, beautiful, and tourist free - it was like another world. Singapore is the cleanest place on earth - even the public toilets in Chinatown were spotless. Recommend eating in the restaurants in Chinatown - food was terrific. Even eating from street vendors was safe and clean. Singapore people very friendly and go out of their way to help. The Japanese buffet at Suntec City is not to be missed. Also the bumboat tour from Clarke Quay was good (ALTHOUGH A BIT HARD ON THE BUM).

Stayed at  Broadway Hotel - Singapore, Singapore.
recommend taking ez-link card from smrt on arrival at changi airport mrt terminal itself for $15 which will cut down travel costs drastically. Broadway Hotel's proximity to Mustafa Shopping Centre,Little India, MRT stations Farrer Park & Little india, proximity to Sim Lim Square etc are great..! Must see places: Chinatown,Science Centre,OMNIMax Theatre,Night Safari,Mustafa Shopping Centre.

Singapore is a very beautiful city. Sentosa Island specially is place worth going to. Dolphin show was amazing. The musical fountain and the laser show was breathtaking. We had also been to Night Safari and Jurong Bird Park. It is very easy to reach places at Singapore. The maps and directions are very clear. One does not need any help. MRT network covers the complete place. We generally use to take MRT and then bus if required to reach the destination. We regret that we could not see the mucical fountain (Fountain of wealth) as it was closed for maintenance during that period. We would always cherish the memories of our Singapore Trip. it no wonder is a great place to visit.

Stayed at  Keong Saik Hotel - Singapore, Singapore.
I was fortunate to have a good local friend to show me around. I must say 3 to 4 days in singapore is more than enough. I practically saw most singapore in 3 days. But a few places that most should not miss out when they're in Singapore are 1) the night safari 2) drinks at boat quay or clarke quay 3) a visit to the merlion statue 4) a stroll down orchard road if shopping is your thing - (try to avoid to have the singapore sling at raffles hotel, most other local bars offer that drink if you really want to try it) Be safe and have fun all!!

Stayed at  Tristar Inn Singapore - Singapore, Singapore.
I mostly went for walks in Joo Chiat Street and adjoining areas. This is the area of Singapore with the most traditional feel, owing to the mixture of renovated shophouses and open-air hawker centers, small restaurants, stores, and karaoke places. Prices are about 20% lower than at Boat Quay or Orchard Road, and most people in the area are locals. Highly recommended.

We arrived late at night 10pm at hotel. However before retiring we took a walk up Orchard Rd and were amazed that although the shops were closed there were still heaps of people walking the streets. Wonderfully warm balmy night. The next day we purchased our metro tickets and decided to do a complete circle around the island. It was for us a great way to experience Singapore itself. We stopped at the waterfront where we could catch a cable car ride over to Sentosa Island. As we had a limited stayover in Singapore we only visited the Butterfly & Insect Park, and the Aquarium. The Aquarium was fabulous and very similar in some respects to our own Kelly Tarlton here in Auckland. Buses on Sentosa were frequent and easy to use to get around and on the whole we think Sentosa Island is worth the visit. Later on we walked along the boat quay, not so nice that day as the canal smelled very badly and there was hardly anyone around early afternoon. The restaurants at the boat quay at night apparently transform the place once populated with customers.

As we only had one day's stopover we filled the afternoon with shopping for electronic gadgets and there were heaps of shops around for that. We had hoped to visit the night safari at the zoo but were too tired out that night to make it. I have heard it's excellent though. Overall Singapore is a great city, very clean and beautifully warm all day and night. Crowded in Orchard Rd but never did we feel unsafe there at any time. I'd love to visit again as there are lots of things we never had time for.

Stayed at  Berjaya Hotel, Duxton Road - Singapore, Singapore.
Get a pamphlet from East Tours to get a pretty good idea of what's on offer. The City Tour is great if it is your first time in Singapore, it orients you to everything. I went on the Kukup and Orchid Farm all day Tour and had a ball. Batik factory and pewter included, not as good as the big places in Singapore, but anything you buy in Kukup is a steal. I am wearing a lovely soft pair of trews, cost SG9.00, how can you go wrong! And the fish meal was to die for..crab, prawns, whole fish, chicken, vegetables etc etc. A good day.
