City tour (1/2 day) very informative. Batu Caves are OK, but if you've been to India and seem the real thing, then this won't phase you at all. Daytrip to Melacca was good. Line for Petronas tickets was outrageous, go to Menera (KL tower) instead, which is in Bukit Nanas park...it is a bit of a walk uphill, you can take a taxi if you like. You get a better view than from Petronas. Chinatown Petaling street was hectic...only visit there if you are serious about shopping imitation stuff. For food, walk around Jalan Sultan..for some cheap stuff (or Jalan Alor, if you are in Golden Triangle area). The walk on Jalan Pudu from Chinatown to Bukit Bintang was interesting, it goes past the large bus station, but what is better is that you get a real cross section of homey Kuala Lumpur, without the luxuries, you just see people on the street, small stores, restaurants, etc...very local...non touristy scene, for a different perspective. Also, visit Mederka square, so you can see where the British lived, and also you can take a look at the former Petronas Building (before the twin towers were built) The local transport in KL is very good, with the monorail, the trains, the buses, you should have no problem getting around.

KL is great. Go early to book the visit to the Skybridge, shop at MidValley. We hired a car from Orix, good machine, very reasonable price, got to drive to the Cameron Highlands. Road system (once you get out of KL itself) are excellent.

KL is a happening place. Food, entertainment, culture, sight-seeing...all within travel distance. Suggest half day city tour to take in sights such as KL Tower with bird's eye view of the whole city, Twin Towers, Pewter & Batik factories, and a Chinese Temple (a lion dance practice session when we were there!). Lake Garden is nice scenic spot for the afternoon stroll and visit to the deer park and bird park, bring a picnic. A good place to visit just outside the city is Templer's park with its great waterfalls. If you are into local chinese food, go to the noodle house at BB plaza, great stuff! The Ship restaurant nearby serves tasty steak. Enjoy Malaysia, it's Asia all in one!

BB Plaza, Sungei Wang Plz, Lot 10, Times Square are all within walking distance. From KLCC to Bukit Bintang, metered cab fare around RM3 only. Manhattan Fish Rsnt in basement offers quite good value. Tandoori & naan available at coffeeshop down the road from hotel.

Very exciting city that is easy on the wallet. Definitely visit Chinatown's Jaya Petaling if you are looking for bargain buys.
If you have the time, a visit to Kuala Selangor (about an hour's drive outside of KL) is worth it just to play with the monkeys on Monkey Mountain. As well, stop by to see the famed (and diminishing) firefly colony. The obvious tourist stop is KL's Petronas Towers, although we found the long wait for tickets anticlimactic as the view was stunted and we were ushered off the skybridge after 10 minutes. Best way to get around is probably by cab, but be sure to ask the price before you get in as many cabbies will not hesitate to jack up their prices to the "tourist rate".

I particularly enjoy the tour conducted at Petronas twin towers..The sight from the towers were jus exhilirating ..just wish it was higher though..coz the skybridge is just too low.
On the whole it was nice..no complaints really.

The hotel is very near to Petronas twin towers, it will only take you 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes through train or taxi. I would recommend to go their at least 8:30am to avail free ticket going to bridgeway.You should also try the Petrosains, for the enjoyment and knowledge enrichment not only for kids but also for adults. It is also near the terminal of NICE bus going to Singapore, it will only take you 5 hours drive. And Puduraya terminal, it will only take you 15 mins to walk from the hotel of 5 mins. by taxi. The terminal for buses going to Genting Island about 45 mins to 1 hour drive. Genting island has large theme parks that you would enjoy, I definitely recommend this for families travelling to Malaysia.

For someone who loves the nature, and just has 5 or 6 days or even less to spend in West Malaysia, I would highly recommend you to my favourite destination - Cameron Highland. It is like 5 hours from Kuala Lumpur. Here you would find the tranquility of the mountain, esacape from the heat of the city. Spare yourself, at least, two days at Cameron Highland, join the must go half day tour to tea plantation farm. Here you would see the most lovely and spectacular view of little green lot of tea farm, spreading all over the valleys ranging from one valley to another. Transportation - better to take the espress bus from Puduraya bus station in the early morning. After 5 hours of journey, you arrive Cameron Highland at around 1 or 2 pm. Registerd for a half day or whole day tour. Just relaxed yourself for the rest of the day. On day 2, begin with the tour and enjoy mother nature with experience local guide. If you are taking the half day tour, you would be able to catch the 1:30pm bus back to Kuala Lumpur and save some time!
Accommodation - for the moderate price places to stay (around US35/nite) at Tapah Rata should be fine. Everything will be in walking distance. Food - the most popular to have at the highland is "steamboat", opened by the local chinese who lived there for 20 years. You just plan less than US3 for a "all-u-can-eat" steamboat buffet at any chinese restaurant. Enjoy the food and a beer on hand is the best thing you could never have in Cameron Highland.
Last but not least - I lost my backpack during my coach transfer from Tapah Rata (Cameron Highland) back to Kuala Lumpur. I was aware of this until I arrived KL which was 730pm in the evening already. I was in panic and the only thing I had was the coach ticket which got the address of the bus company. So I ran to the bus company under heavy rainfall, and asked for help. The lady there was so friendly, asked me to calm down and told me that they already got a phone call from the transfer station, knowing I had left my luggage. And they had arranged the next bus to bring the luggage back to me. During my wait for the next bus to come, which was 2 1/2 hours, though tired and hungry, the lady offered a chair for me which was the best comfort I can have. By 10pm, the bus finally arrived and the bus driver saw a frightened me rightaway. It was good to have my luggage back, really. Many thanks to all the people who had given me a hand during the journey in Malaysia! Terima Kesih!

Best place to shop with reasonable price (Berjaya Time Square, Mid Valley Mega Mall, Sungei Wang Plaza, KL plaza, BB Plaza and KLCC and many more). Tour to Genting highlands was remarkable (one day tour, reservation available through the hotel), not forgetting visit to P. RAMLEE (famous late actor) museum gallery. The food was nice and lots of selection. Really enjoyable trip.
