The Cameron Highlands is definitely worth a visit. Lots to do in fresh, clean mountainous air, as long as you can stand the two-hour windy journey to get there!!! I recommend the tea plantations. I really enjoyed the BOH peppermint tea and banana cake. Stunning views from the BOH tea estate near the hotel. Takes about 15minutes to drive there and it is worth it. Not sure about the restaurants as I was a bit too far away and ate mostly at the hotel. It’s worth hiring a taxi for the afternoon to take you around as the tours are a bit rushed and are really just a snapshot of what's on offer. The jungle walks are a must as the atmosphere is less humid than the rest of Asia so it makes walking much more pleasant. I would also recommned the Cactus Valley. I spent nearly two hours there!!

Bharat's tea graden has nice views of the tea plantation. Rose garden was nice with lots of blooming flowers of all kinds. Butterfly farm also not a bad place to visit. Kea Farm near the equatorial had lots of fresh produce. There is also a large playground in Tanah Ratah which kids can run around. A few strawberry farms around which look kinda similar.

The place was not too much to our expectation - I was expecting Camerons to be cool and nice - the afternoons were hot but not as bad as on the ground level temperature. My family and I pretty much explored the place with our car and we found some interesting places to see and some dissapointing ones - the Strawberry Farm was a real disappointment. The Honey bee farm was great. Shopping for fresh vegetables early in the morning was beyond our expectation and it was a real bargain. Eating out was kinda expensive in most restaurants we found but there were a couple of them with reasonable prices. A great tip - talk to the locals - they have great advice to give (with a smile) especialy on where to shop for vegetables and places to eat at a reasonable price. The trip to Boh Tea plantation great. Though the road to the Boh Plantation and Tea house can be unnerving especially for a car driver like me with a baby onboard but the reward at the end of the trip was worth it. I especialy enjoyed having tea with muffins on the patio of the tea house overlooking the plantation.

We travelled from Kuala Lumpur by car and the journey took approximately 3 hours. After leaving the motorway the road to the Cameron Highlands, it was very winding and very busy with heavy lorries and buses along with cars. After booking into the hotel we went on to Tanah Rata and took a tour which took us to the summit of Gunung Brinchang, on a short jungle trek and round the Boh Tea Plantation. The guide was very knowledgeable and made it very interesting. We ate in the Lakehouse Hotel and the meal was excellent.

I had visited so many interesting places, flower nurseries, Ye olde Smokehouse, vegetable farms, cactus valley and many more. The most interesting was watching the procecess involved in the production of fragrant tea at Sungai Palas Tea Estate and relax with a cup of Boh tea at the tea shop. Here, located in a cool mountain hideaway distant from all the frantic rush of city life.

Excellent climate. Rose Valley and Cactus Valley, caught our breath. Strawberry gardens were a real treat to eyes and we got to taste mouth watering fresh strawberries. A invaluable nature experience. Very good spot for a weekend getaway from the hustle-bustle of city life. Lot of places for having Indian food, best being Surys restaurant at Tanah Rata.

A very good second trip in Malaysia. Our first took place in the year 1996. Quite a big change. We stayed 3 days in Singapore at the Novotel Apollo, to be recommended as a very good hotel.

Kuala Lumpur is really a town to be visited. We went to Cameron Highlands for the tea plantations. We went to Penang Island, to Langkawi Island. I would recommend to stay a few days in Langkawi.

Having stayed in four hotels in Malaysia during my 24 day trip, I would suggest to get a Consultant specialist of hotels making a sort of survey to advise the hotels how to improve the maintenance. Otherwise the Malaysian are very kind people.

The Cameron Highlands is well worth a visit if you enjoy hill walking, the scenery is breathtaking especially after you have walked up the trails. The tea plantations are worth a visit but not all of them do tours, so check first.
