Travelling around is easy using the MTR. There's a dessert shop near the Hard Rock Cafe which has mouthwatering dessert. The chinese name is Tang Chao, meaning the Sweet Dynasty. However, you must be patient, as there's always a queue. But it's worth the wait.
For those with kids, there's a Toy Shop at No 8, Queen's Road Central, near the Central MTR Station. They stock a lot of books by Usbourne, DK, Walker etc.
Generally, Hong Kongers are quite friendly and helpful and the transport system is very efficient.

Head for the MTR and buy an Octopus card to get around cheaply and easily. 'Sweet Dynasty' on the Canton road is a restaurant worth visiting. Middle-range prices and quick service even though a very popular place. BP is very near to the Temple street night market, Tin Hau Temple [also on Temple Street], Kowloon park - great for early morning tai chi, shops and the MTR. Good place to be. See all you can and enjoy HK.

Hot tip: If you decide to take the Peak Tram up to the Peak, it will drop you off in the Peak Tower. Walk across the street from the Peak Tower the the other building. It is higher and its roof deck offers MUCH better views than the Peak Tower! PLUS, there are much fewer people up there.

I traveled to Hong Kong to marry my wife, who lives and works there. We traveled mainly by train, ferry, bus and tram(trolley). Hong Kong has the best available public transportation that is second to none in the world! We spent our honeymoon at North Point Newton Inn. We visited Central, Discovery Bay, Tung Chung and North Point. We also visited the US Consulate, the Philippine Consulate, numerous shopping malls, experienced many restauraunts and a night club. Hong Kong is a travelers dream, go and explore it!

From BP International House, take mini green bus no. 6 to Hung Hom Station when you wanna take a train to Shenzhen for day trip shopping. Train ride costs HKD 33 per person.
Travelling within Hong Kong is easy as Tsim Sha Tsui MTR is 10 minute walk from BP. You can go to Mong Kok, Ladies Market, Langham Place from there. Just ask around where to stop from Tsim sha tsui.
15 minute walk to Harbour City from BP to take a ferry to Hong Kong Island. You may want to drop by Star Avenue while you're at the ferry terminal. Hong Kong version of walk of fame.
Ferry ride to KH Island is HKD 2.20. From Central Ferry Terminal in HK Island, you can take bus no 15 that'll take you to The Peak. Awesome scenery, especially if you get window seats at Marche Restaurant.
If you wanna go to Repulse Bay and Ocean Park from the Ferry Terminal, you can take bus no 260. From Repulse bay you can take mini bus no 16 to Stanley Market for mini shopping.

We enjoyed our 6-day stay in HongKong. We joined several tour groups namely: HongKong Island tour; Macau; Canton; night cruise with seafood dinner. We also enjoyed going up the peak tram and a night dinner at the Movenpick. We did a sampan ride with the Island tour and that was fun - though we found the harbor very polluted. We walked around a lot and I particularly liked both the day and night street markets, though my husband did not. Shopping was great in HongKong.

Hong Kong is definately a bussing destination and a real wake up call as we stopped off on the way back from New Zealand. Visit the Victoria Peak and take the Star Ferry if you do not have much time (and we did not). Anyone looking to get fake DVDs etc out there should be aware that there has been a govt clampdown on this type of activity due to pressures from companies (and the fact that China is an expanding economy). People wanting fake stuff should head to Malaysia and Thailand where the items are easier to find. HK is good for shopping and the local shops for clothes are excellent (Summer Jacket for under £7 etc). Food wise there is so much to choose from you will need to decide before hand what type of food you want (ie chinese, Indian, italian etc). The airport express is the best way to get into town from the airport and is relatively cheap and extremely quick and effecient. You can check in your luggage at the downtown terminal on your way back to the Airport so no carrying big suitcases on the train. The MTR stations are also clean and efficient and recommended for getting around. If you have never been to Hong Kong then it is definitely worth going even if it is just as a stopover.

My first visit for 12 years, and it felt like the first. The skyscrapers really do have a Wow factor. Not just the concentrated number and height of them, but their form. I'm not a great expert on modern architure but I do appreciate all the novel forms of most of HK's skyline. The older, colonial buildings and streets crossing and mixing with the ultra modern all in a tiny area, and the rabbit warren of tunnels and shopping plazas beneath most large buildings makes HK feel very unique. Greater HK with the hilly, almost mountainous terrain with a mind boggling number of highrise apartment buildings crammed everywhere you go is more remarkable than the actual tourist destinations. But the regular attractions are well worth doing and visiting, even if just to get a real feel for the scale and variety of HK - riding the trams, the Star Ferry, going up the Peak, visiting the great Bhudda on Lantau island, having a barbecue in the New Territories.
My best cuisine experiences in HK so far are having a leisurely drink at the 8th flr bar in the Conrad hotel in Pacific Place. The views and ambience are perfect. Then I would recommend the oriental restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental with drinks (of course!) beforehand at the adjacent bar, again with great views across the bay. With (or without) the perfect partner this would definitely be a night to remember.

I recommend a day-visit to Ocean Park, definitely one of the best attraction park of the world, especially thanks to its unbeatable location, right above the South Sea.
