Langkawi was fantastic - relaxing and yet enough to do that I can't remember even looking at my watch the whole time. Perfect place to sleep when tired, eat when hungry, lounge on the beach or ride around on a motorbike. Two things I recommend are hiring a motorbike to see the island and going on an Eco-cruise with Crystal yacht tours. The motorbikes are easy to ride and fairly safe. The yacht trip was the best day of our trip. Eat at Fat Mum's and see the snake charmers show at Snake Farm.

The acquarian was very good. The beach in Langkawi isn't the east coast but is alot better than Pangkor. The only negative feature was the jellyfish. Next time we will hire a car and do some boat trips. Langkawi is an intersting place to visit but to get a total feel of beach life in Malaysia it needs to be followed by a trip to Redang!

Langkawi is a beautiful island, although some indiscriminate building around the island is an eyesore. The people in general on the island are very hospitable and friendle. There is a fixed charge for taxis to any locations within the island which is good. Cenang an Panthai are probable the best areas for restaurants and bars. There are some really nice restaurants located beside the Langkawi Village Resort (200 metres to the left on leaving the hotel). Try to take in the island tour by taxi, well worth the 60 Ringits.

enjoyed our round island tour, given by one of the taxi drivers. a stop at underwater world is recommended for families with children, otherwise langkawi is probably a more suitable destination for those without children in tow.

Langkawi has nice and beautiful beaches and not too busy Renting a car from the airport was a good idea.

Langkawi is quiet-a beach resort.Trips available and car rental, all ok.We've been before and enjoyed coning back.Could be dull for those needing party-club stuff. But the drink is cheap, and its a relaxing place.Shopping not as good as they say it is -lots of tat.Maybe boring for young families-not much to keep kids entertained.

Relatively cheap transport by taxis. Local restaurants are particularly good value for money. Underwater World is definitely worth a visit.

The area itself is just lovely. It is easy to get around on a motorbike and there is lots to see...especially the waterfall!

The location was excellent from the airport and beach, but better permit cars (or cabs) to enter and reach chalets especially the far ones. We tried to find clean and fashion restaurants, but it was very difficult, all we found was very popular and traditional ones.
