The cameron highlands tea plantations were beautiful. However, the road up was treachous and local driving abysmal. There was a tremendous amount of traffic, including huge trucks and tourist buses, and local drivers go double the speed they should be going, and pass on blind curves all the time. Not worth risking your life 20 times over - better wait till they finish building the new road!

Very pleasant destination. To do the jungle trails one really needs to buy the Cameron Highlands map. The tours are interesting for the Tea Plantation, the rest are very much fill-in bits. The cafes on the main street serve cheap, good food.

The area is great, very savage and if you are driving do not forget to fill your car up with petrol before starting the 1h 1/2 climb up.
We had a jungle tour, organised from the hotel, just great!
