Cameron Highland is a very scenic place. The drive there is a little exhaustive but it is very worth it to have your own transportation as you can roam around the place.
If you like greenary, flowers, nature and vegetation and stay near Malaysia, Cameron is one of the good choice.
Temperature is around low 20 deg. celcius in January. And it is advisable to bring along a rain jacket everytime you go out as it might just rain on you unexpectedly (5 mins - 1 hours).

the destination is very long journey. Before driving up do eat make yourself full. You will vomit when driving up the hill if you have empty stomach. Wind down your cars windows you will feel much batter.
So be prepare oils ,plastics (for vomiting) sweets especially toddlers make them sleep before driving up. Visiting the farm there are very cool if you are a plantation lovers.
Do not miss the Pasar Malam they are very cheap.

Beautiful location, excellent jungle treKking. Went to all the places of interest locally, which only took 2 days - and then there was nothing to do!! It is not possible to hire a car in the Cameron Highlands so Taxis are the only way to get around. Soon gets boring if you are an active person. Would have been much more enjoyable had we have been told this and we would have hired a car from KL and visited places further afield.

Unfortunately, the area currently resembles a construction site, due to major road building works. Heavy, persistent rain during our visit did not help, leading to mud slides. However, we enjoyed visiting the Boh tea estates, butterfly garden, bee farm and rose centre. Drove to Gunung Brinchang, the highest point on peninsular Malaysia, where the views were absolutely spectacular. (We travelled in a hired car).
I feel that the Cameron Highlands stands in danger of overdevelopment , leading to it's losing the very uniqueness which makes it so special.

If you would like to travel around cameron highlands from this hotel, you would need your own transport.
There do not have any food outlet and places of interest nearby.

Around the immediate environens of the Lakehouse there is not much you are able to do without access to transport. I hired a car and driver and visited a tea plantation, flower farm and a few other venues known to the driver. ( Did not arrange this through the Lakehouse.) Countryside is MAGNIFICENT.

Scenic peaceful location but new road into the area will probably lead to more development which will change the location dramatically -probably for the worst as planning in Malaysia does not appear to be a priority.

Enjoyed the location although the major road works in the upper part of the highlands restricted access to some sites. Visitors should be warned.

The hotel is three and a half hours north of K-L. The first two hours is by motorway followed by 90 minutes driving up the mountain round hairpin bends.
There is very little to do except play golf and walk the area. The half day visit to the Boh tea plantation is worth the time. We ate in the hotel each night because as ex-pats we cannot get English food! To get around you need a car although taxis are readily available and cheap.

The plantation tour organised by the tour desk was disappointing. The tour guide was imcompetent. We were left to wander around the attractions on our own while he was having tea breaks with his friends. We could have done it on our own.
Arrangement can also be made with taxi drivers to bring you around Cameron Highlands at affordable rate. The Pasar Malam at Brinchang was good for souvenir hunting.
