We drove around and visited the temples and the small eateries. The food was very good, with the famous dim sum from the restaurant called Fu-shan. And also the Lao Wong chicken rice which is only opened from evening onwards. And shopping at the shopping mall with Jusco in it. The shopping mall has many varieties and standard outlets which really offers a good shopping experience.

Little time was spent in Ipoh so not much comments on interesting places. Main objective there is to eat, which we asked and tried 'Wongs bean sprouts chicken' which was pretty good. Of course we felt good about the Ipoh 'Hor Fun' at some street stall near hotel Excelsior.

Destination of hotel is ok, rather centralised. It costs around RM6-8 to go around the places we went. We visited Sam Poh Tong and alongside it there're two other limestone cave temples. It is unique with the temple built in into the limestone. I like the beautiful gardens outside. However, I prefer the Perak Tong which is more natural with beautiful wall paintings on the limestone cave ceilings. It's an enchanting experience.

Had dimsum as well at Lea Garden Seafood restaurant...cheap and good esp. the century egg porridge. Love it! Also tried Hakka mee, ipoh hor fun, curry mee, laksa and ice cream float ice cream with bandung which the coffee shop claimed to have sold this ice cream for over 30 years. There's a drink called Sar Lei Juice or the UMBRA which is very refreshing and good! Two thumbs up!

Only on food: I'd like to recommend Assam House if you can take spicy food; Chow Yuen Fatt was there too when he shot Anna and the King. Try also roadside stalls.
