The Chinese restaurant is too expensive with the type of foods serving. Even a simple meal like steam boat.

the hotel is situated on top of a hill, it is a very good place for relaxation because of the quiet environment. Only a few minutes drive will reach the town where there are good restaurants. My family & I will still stay in this hotel if we go to Cameron Highlands again.

cameron highland is a nice destination.if you are travelling by driving on your own better to travel during the daytime sinece there are many land slides because of rain.the roads are also curvy.
The place called gunung brinchang in sungai balas road should not be missed since it offers excellent scenic view and is the top most point in peninsular malaysia.but self driving with excellent driving skills are required to reach this place.
there are no indian restaurents available offering decent food.

Cameron Highlands is a very beautiful place. Places worth visiting are the BOH Tea Estates at Ringlet (best illustration of how tea is processed mechanically) and Sungai Palais (best for illustration of manual processing of tea), Bharat Tea Estate (good milk tea served at the kiosk), vegetable terraces, rose garden, flower nurseries, strawberry farms and peak of Gunung Brinchang (bird's eye view of Cameron Highlands). It was convenient and cheap to charter a taxi to take you to these places. I signed up for a countryside tour with C.S Travel for RM$15 per person. This tour was good value for money. For the rest of those destinations, I paid about RM$20 per hour to get a personal guide to bring me to these places. All in all, I spent RM$15 for the countryside tour and another RM$120 (6 hours) to cover those places not in the countryside tour.

As we had a car we could easily visit all places in one day! If you don't have transportation you need more days to see it all. If you like to hike do stay even longer as this is a very nice place to walk. We started at Boh Tea estate: Sungei Palas. This Tea estate is very nice located and you can walk to it from the main road. It goes hilldown first and it takes you about 35 minutes. Back it is up the hill again and you will need 50 minutes. It is a nice walk and at the end you will find the visitors centre and a Tea shop. They have a free guided tour and a little cafe. Take a morning to visit this.
In all the shops you can buy a map of the Cameron Highlands which gives you a good orientation and information of what to do.
If you like the old english period do visit the Smoke house. We had dinner there - you have to take your money with you, but worth it. High tea is also a good alternative to use here.
