Moving around Malacca is rather easy, lest the occassional traffic jam. The pace of the city is very wonderful and makes you want to come back sooner than later. My family and I enjoyed every trip to Malacca, which we tried to make it a point to visit 4 times or more a year. Jonker Street is a must visit over the weekends, especially in the night where you get to see night stalls and street performance. My children loved the performance and always fascinated by the 'fire eating', coconut piercing performance.

Melaka is written about quite extensively in guidebooks because of it's colonial past, but surprisingly there isn't that much to do there. Most museums were closed for refurbishment, and FYI, the light and sound show only takes place on saturdays. We did find a really nice restaurant/pub with nice food and brilliant staff. They really made us feel welcome,it's loony planet, and I'd recommend going there if you're near it.

Malacca is a truly a historical city. We visited places like - 'The Stadhuys' and the Light and sound show near St. Pauls church, The Malacca zoo, the Ostrich farm. The best way to go around is by walk. Being Indians we went about looking for Indian food. Many South Indian restaurants available at Jalan Temenggong. For North Indian foods - there are a couple of restaurants at Malacca Raya. Malacca is good for food. Shopping - Mahkota Parade . You have to visit once. Malacca - a place where you should only visit the hotel for your night sleep.

Melaka is dirty and smelly. This is in both the old and new parts of the town. No metered taxi so you're screwed if you don't know the rates. Everything pretty much shuts down at sunset so you're stuck inside the hotel. Historical sites are not worth my time.

Malacca is a nice place to visit and the hotel is situated nearby the historical places where it can make you feel easy to go. From KL, it tooks me 1.45 hours driving to Ayer Keroh exchange and you can be loss as there are many signage around you. I'm very enjoy with the riding boat, horse and cow and I promoised to myself that I'll coming back next trip.
