For those looking for an excellent location of a hotel, Bintang Warisan is the answer. Major shopping malls are at the door steps...Times Square is less than 10 minutes away should you decide to catch a midnight movie like I did.
Overall, I'm really satisfied with my stay at the hotel and will patronize the hotel again in the near future.

Well placed for KLCC and LRT but not so convenient for Bukit Bintang area. KLCC great if you like shopping malls, but there are plenty more to choose from. In the evening Hard Rock Cafe still buzzing and liked ambience of Q-bar at Westin. Beach bar heaving but too young a crowd for my taste. Bangsa didn't seem as lively as a couple of years ago.

It's not true that Bintang Walk has lots of pubs, we could not even find more than 1 pub along the whole stretch of Jalan Bukit Bintang. In the end, we went to an Irish pub along Jalan Sultan Ismail (near Bintang Monorail station)
We did a lot of walking and commuted by monorail throughout our trip, which is pretty good, gave us a chance to explore the city on our own.
One point to take note of is the bad traffic is KL, the drivers do not abide by the rules of the traffic light!

Chinatown: Had our dinner at the roadside stall along Jln Sultan, which is much cheaper compared to those seafood restaurants, whose staff is always asking us to patronise them whenever we walked pass.
Zouk: Sort of a more high-class pub & disco in town, the way the people dress more formal, the feeling is a bit different as compared to S'pore (also visited another disco that plays mostly chinese pops, but the tremble & high bass of the music makes us stay only for awhile).
One-Utama: A huge shopping complex at Damansara, about RM10 from KL by taxi.
Jln Bukit Bintang: One bak kuk teh restaurant along the main street (opposite the Federal Hotel) sells very nice dishes, definitely worth the money.
The Mall: A fairly older shopping complex compared to others in town, but its close proximity to our hotel makes us visit more than once.

KL is not really a place to sightsee. But is is a place to shop and eat. In a short weekend trip, would recommend a walk through the main shops in bukit bintang. For food, one of my favourite places is the Overseas Chinese restaurant at Jalan Imbi, which has the best roast pork. Their prawns in sweet black sauce is also to die for. (Note - if you're going to eat there, do call and reserve a table in advance together with a portion of the roast pork as it sells out fast).
On this last trip i also found a little cafe in the first floor of Sungei Wang shopping centre, where the local designer shops are, which had the most sinful and largest chocolate banana cake I've ever seen. On Sat night paid a visit to Zouk. Was very impressed overall with the interior and the music but was very surprised that it was very empty even by around 12pm. Perhaps the crowd comes along later but we didn't stay long enough to find out.

Visited KL many times and never tire of it. Try and get up to the skybridge at Petronas towers (go early for ticket) and eat in restaurant up the KL tower. Stunning view. Also visit Bangsar area for good bars and restaurants. Beware taxi drivers who don't switch on meter and then ask you for crazy figure. Tell them to switch on meter or agree a price before starting.

Our purpose for visiting KL was to shop for Christmas. We primarily spent our time in the malls...one adult would entertain the children while the other shopped. KLCC Suria shopping center is great to entertain children with the outdoor play area, the movie theater and Science Museum. The new Times Square Mall has a fun indoor theme park, Cosmo, which our children enjoyed. The IMAX theater is there too. The Kraft Komplex is also a good way to spend a few hours letting children make a batik print. On a prior visit we stayed at the Sunway Lagoon hotel which is attached to a water park and mall with ice skating rink which is fun for the family. KL is constantly changing and there are several new shopping areas under construction now. The monthly magazine "KL Lifestyle" has a helpful layout regarding where to shop, dine, stay and unwind. It can be purchased at most newsstands and mini markets.

If you like spicy chicken then you should try Nandos flaming grill chicken just across the road from the hotel. Times square is also opposite the hotel where adults can do their shopping and kids can have fun in the indoor amusement park, your kids would love you loooong time. BB plaza also a good place to shop just 5 minutes down the road.

I went to several shopping centres in the area, including the KLCC which I will recommend with its great selection of international brands. The Petronas Towers is also a must see for those in KL, especially stunning at night with its lightings. For those who prefer some outdoor action, Sunway Lagoon is also just about an hour's drive away and taxis are readily available with fares reasonable too. Try the roadside stalls in KL to get a taste of local fare, and if you like clubbing, the area has many well-known clubs within walking distance. Zouk is round the corner, while Hard Rock Cafe is adjoined to the hotel. There are also many themed nightspots in the area eg. Planet Hollywood. If you like Retro music, Zouk is a must go on Wednesday nights!

Next door to e-Zone, Malaysia's largest cyber cafe with a special 'game room' (4th floor of the Low Yat Shopping Center) with ATM on the ground floor. Tons of great sidewalk cafes and lots of activity into the night.
