Stayed at Pangkor Island Beach Resort - Perak, Malaysia.
|
The first few hours were spent in the outdoor pool that was clean and beckoning. We basked in the sun and enjoyed a couple a heneiken at the pool bar. Clayte said he was going to send some pictures of the beautiful setting to his mates at home.
We had his bithday dinner at the hornbill restaurant - It should be the only restaurant in the resort but with a private beach, we think we could work with less food options. We ordered a bottle of white wine, Clayte had the pangkor snapper that you must definitely try if you visit, it was, trust me, marvellous. He enjoyed it tremendously. I had a malay rice set with meat on skewer and crackers etc. It was normal. The meal set us back by Rm183 but we thought for a birthday romantic dinner by the beach front, it was worth it.
Next day was breakfast and walks along the beach, more pool drinks. We didn't do much this time but Clayte did water skiing last time and I think it cost Rm80 then.
If you are planning to visit there, take this little tip from us.
Close your balcony doors and front room doors. The monkeys there are so clever. Last time we visited, they attacked our fridge, took some fruits we put in and also ravished the packets of peanuts. We had to pay for the peanuts but thankfully we stopped them in time before they went on a drinking session on us :)
I think resort is alright for the money we paid. The final bill came up to Rm727.60 because Clayte made a long distance call the was charged at 207.90. Phone bills are crazy at hotels all the time. There are however, other budget options on the island too.
