Guest commentsQuite far from town, around 25-30mins good walk, although the view from the room was worth the distance.

Guest commentsThe location is great, it is quiet but still central. The Hotel is past it's best, and in need of some major refurbishment. The view from our Room was fabulous (Geyser view). We booked a Quad room which was quite tight. No information in the room on how everything worked, where everything was or any tourist information. It was warm, clean enough and the staff were pleasant but would probably not stay there again, would look for something more modern.

Guest commentsThe hotel rooms are a bit dated but roomy. What blew us away was the fantastic views from the bedroom straight onto the Geyser and that was the best value of all . So glad we didn't go to a more expensive hotel as they do not have these views. The staff were really helpful booked our trips with no problem. Restaurant food was also very good. Would visit it again.

Guest commentsWe stayed here at two diff. points in our trip. The first time was for 2 nights and the room was fairly updated and nice - not fancy. We had a nice view of the geysers and enjoyed the room. On our return trip - for one night - we got a small, cramped room that was barely bigger than a closet! It had old, outdated furniture that was barely acceptable and had no view at all. BIG disappointment, but I would reco. the new wing for a basic no-frills place to stay.

Guest commentsoutlook directly onto geyser and mud pools which gurgled all day and night. This did not deflect on the proximity to these awesome sights. Far better than Lady Knox geyser. Spout pool is a must, like having your own warm swimming pool. Breakfast was hit and miss when large groups are there at the same time and not enough staff to cope with the situation. Reception were very polite and of a great help.

Guest commentsNot as close to the centre of town as claimed - about half hour walk - but fantastic view over a geyser park with steam fountains and bubbling mud. You can even hear the mud bubbling all night, which is strange but not unpleasant. Reception helped sort us out with a Maori hangi - feast and performance with collection from the hotel.

Guest commentsThe decor of the room was tired, and in need of re-furbishment. The grouting of the tiles in the shower room needs replacing. The shower screen and door are soap stained and need a major clean or replacing. The expelair has a noisy bearing and 2 missing slats and needs replacing. A join in the carpet in living area has parted and could be a safety issue. The control knob on the ceiling fan was missing. Mirrors had been cleaned leaving smears.
