Guest commentsAs alwais, japanese way of service is a model. Alwais so kind, it was really a pleasure to stay there. The possibility of renting laptop for only 1000 is really a good idea and very useful. Thnak you for again for your kindness. Anthony Cuvillier FRANCE

Guest commentsThe room was small. We didnt eat in the hotel mainly because of wanting something more quaint and less costly. The Ryokan around the corner was good. Station is only 3 minutes walk from the Kyoto station. The bus day pass enabled us to get around very easily. But beware the return from Gion as these can get very crowded at night. Kyoto railway museum is in walking distance. The room was clean and there was no smell of smoking although there was an ashtray in this non smoking room! Go figure.

Guest commentsVery very small space; not unexpected in Tokyo, rather unexpected in Kyoto. My daughter and I occupied 2 single rooms - still feeling quite claustrophobic. At least made up by its excellent location.

Guest commentsPoor command of English by the reception personel If you prefer western style, breakfast very poor, cold scrambeled eggs, no fresh fruits ,no fresh bread or toppings.

Guest commentsHotel very handy for Kyoto Station. Helpful staff. Rooms quite small but that is probably typical of Japanese hotels. Excellent spa.

Guest commentsHotel was an excellent base from which to visit Kyoto. Be aware that there are three Apa Hotel buildings within walking distance of the Kyoto train station. We mistakenly checked in to the one furthest west and had to deal with slightly more walking but we were also lucky to have an outdoor spa on the top floor of our building. I highly recommend this hotel based on our experience.

Guest commentsThe location was excellent and the staff were very courteous and helpful. There was a microwave in the lobby which proved to be very useful. However, our stay would have been improved if we had a room with a view of something other than a stairway. My personal prefermnce is to have natural ight and the curtain open. I tried on two occassions to be moved to another room, and although the staff tried to accomodate there was nothing available. As I said, it is just a personal preference - some people like to have the curtains closed. Other than this I would thoroughly recommend the Hotel - but ask for a room with natural light if it makes a difference. I would definately stay at APA again if that were available. The rooms were spotless and very modern and quite large to Japan so that was a bonus.
