| Guest comments | My first impressions of the Grand Stanford were not great, particularly as I had stayed in the Intercontinental Sydney in January and loved it. In the Grand Stanford, I had booked a room with a 'city view', but was given a view of the central duct. The room was beside the lift shaft, so I got little sleep the first night with the constant whirring of machinery. There was an unpleasant, faintly fungaloid odour in the room when the airconditioning was on cool, so I kept it to fan only. As I was staying for five nights, I brought all this to the attention of the reception. The following morning I was upgraded to a spacious harbour view with a king bed, at no extra charge. The airconditioning scent was still an issue, so I think they need to service the system, but for the next four nights, I enjoyed my stay very much and loved coming back to the room after a day in the city. There was also a direct coach to the airport which was a fantastic convenience. | ||
