Hanmer Springs is the one of the oldest tourist destinations in New Zealand. Located halfway between Christchurch and Picton on the East coast of the South island, its an ideal place for those wanting a quiet break, or a great place to break a touring journey. Also not far from the Whale watching activities of Kaikoura.

Guest comments	Out of a week in the South Island this was the best hotel that we stayed at for our family (2 parents, a 10 and an 8 year old). They had a breakfast option of one child eats free with each adult which was great value for great food.

Guest comments	Good hotel in a excellent location, but with some curious lacks in facilities to rate really top class. Booking hadn't come through, but they responded well with an upgrade. Pool very nice. I'd stay there again.
